Haryana: MLA Kiran-Shruti resigns Congress party

Rewari: Former Haryana CM Chaudhary Bansi Lal’s daughter-in-law and MLA from Bhiwani’s Tosham, Kiran Chaudhary, and her daughter have left Congress. They have sent their resignations to party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Kiran wrote that here the party is being run like a personal estate.

She will join the BJP tomorrow (19 June) at 10 a.m. with her daughter, former MP Shruti Chaudhary. Both will go to Delhi and join the party at BJP headquarters. During this time, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will also be present.

Kiran Chaudhary was looking angry since her daughter Shruti Chaudhary’s ticket was cut from the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh seat in the Lok Sabha elections. Kiran has openly accused the media several times of conspiring to finish her politically.

Apart from him, there is also talk of another Congress leader, former Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Sharma, leaving the party. Although Kuldeep is still in Congress, according to sources, he too can join the BJP very soon.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP and Congress won 5–5 seats in Haryana. Kiran Chaudhary was asking for a ticket from the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha seat for her daughter Shruti Chaudhary.

His daughter has also been an MP from this seat once, but this time the party cut Shruti’s ticket and gave it to former CM Hooda’s close Mahendragarh MLA Rao Dan Singh. This angered Kiran, and both of them completely distanced themselves from the election campaign. The situation became such that Rao Dan Singh lost the election.
