Hisar: Mining businessman Vedpal Tanwar, a resident of Hisar, Haryana, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from Delhi. Vedpal Tanwar has a big mining business in Dadum, Bhiwani. Tanwar had gone to Delhi to respond to the notice. At the same time, the ED team arrested him.
Earlier, on August 3, 2023, the ED team raided Tanwar’s residence in Sector-15, Hisar. During this, ED had found many important documents. Tanwar is accused of fraud of crores of rupees. After this, ED had issued a notice to Tanwar and sought a reply.
Tanwar not only delayed in responding to the notice, but also did not cooperate in the ED action. Tanwar’s wife is also accused of misbehaving with the team during the raid.
Raid was done about 9 months ago
About 9 months ago, ED raided the house of Advocate Wazir Kohad, who lives in Urban Estate, along with Vedpal Tanwar and Congress leader Surendra Malik in Hansi. ED reached their house stealthily under police protection. Vedpal Tanwar was not at home at that time. Tanwar’s wife and daughter were at home. No one was allowed to go out during the raid.
ED had searched documents and questioned the three for several hours at their homes. All three people have a joint business.
The team checked the walls of Tanwar’s house with machines. Not only this, the water tank of the house and the roofs of the neighbors were also checked. Tanwar’s daughter Manisha and wife Sushila had told that the officers used to talk to Tanwar only on their phones.
They took the numbers of all the bank accounts, PAN card, Aadhar card. They checked the mobile, laptop of the house and also asked for the bills of jewelry. Tanwar also has 200 acres of ancestral land and a school in Chhapar village in Bhiwani.
