Long wait for the post of senior and deputy mayor, Here is main reason for delay in election

The government has nominated councillors in eight municipal corporations of Haryana. No plan has been decided yet for the election of the Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor. It may take a long time. The councillors are worried that in 2018, BJP did not have a majority of councillors; other parties and independent councillors had joined BJP. Due to lack of consensus on the election, the election was delayed.

The election results of the eight municipal corporations of the state were declared on March 12, and councillors, including mayors took oath on March 24. During the elections held in Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Hisar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Yamunanagar, BJP candidates won 160 out of 212 councillor posts. The leaders who missed getting a ticket in BJP in the assembly elections held last year and later won the councillor election after not getting the ticket for the post of mayor are now eyeing these posts. But for this, one has to wait for a long time.

Two days ago, the government has nominated three councillors in eight municipal corporations, thus the tenure of these nominated councillors will be about 4 years. Similarly, the senior deputy mayor and deputy mayors were hopeful that due to the elections being held soon, they will also get a chance to stay on the seat for a long time. At present, the situation is not clear from the government and organization level regarding the elections. In such a situation, the wait of the councillors is increasing.
