Preparations are now underway to take action against play schools running without recognition in Rohtak. On the instructions of the Women and Child Development Department, the Education Department has issued notices to 93 schools and asked them to apply for recognition within 10 days.
If the application is not made within the stipulated time, action will be taken to close the school. The officials made it clear that teaching children without recognition is a violation of the rules, which will not be tolerated now.
Responsibility assigned to Anganwadi and supervisor
District Program Officer of Women and Child Development Department Deepika Saini said that the department has assigned the responsibility to Anganwadi workers and supervisors to identify play schools running illegally in their areas.
At present, only 3 play schools in the district are recognized by the department, while other schools are violating the rules by admitting small children without permission.
Recognition is necessary for schools
District Program Officer Deepika Saini said that schools must be recognized to ensure the safety, proper care and quality primary education of small children. Recognition to private play schools is done through the Department of Women and Child Development as per the guidelines issued by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
