A Haryana Roadways bus going from Fatehabad to Uklana met with an accident last night. The bus collided with a tree standing on the side of the road while trying to save a bike rider near the village Saniyana on Sirsa-Chandigarh main road. The bus was full of passengers. While the driver was seriously injured in the accident, some other passengers also got injured.
The front part of the bus was badly damaged after colliding with the tree near Saniyana. The bus driver got stuck between the seat and the tree. Passersby tried to take out the driver but were unsuccessful. Later he was taken out with the help of a crane. He remained stuck on the seat for about half an hour.
The seriously injured driver has been admitted to a private hospital in Uklana. His condition is said to be critical. Many passengers in the bus have also been injured. They have been admitted to hospitals in Uklana and Bhuna.
The incident happened after the passengers were dropped off from Bhuna bus stand. After the accident, police reached the spot and started relief work. Many passengers are scared and panicked despite minor injuries.
