The Health Department and the District Administration have taken a tough stand on the cases of illegal abortion in Rohtak. Under the ongoing campaign, the department is raiding clinics and hospitals carrying out illegal abortions, and legal action is being taken against the doctors by arresting them.
In this episode, a joint team of the Health Department and the FDA Department took major action and raided the Balhara Ayurvedic and Modern Clinic running in Shastri Nagar near the Hisar bypass.
Here, a BAMS couple was caught red-handed giving abortion medicine. The team arrested both of them on the spot. According to the officials, this clinic was carrying out a serious procedure, like abortio,n without permission.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramesh Chandra Arya received secret information that abortion medicine was being given illegally in Shastri Nagar. A team was formed to take action on the basis of secret information, which included Dr. Vishwajeet Rathi District Nodal Officer PCPNDT, Mandeep Mann Drug Controlling Officer and Ranjeet Singh. The team raided and caught the BAMS couple.
District Nodal Officer PCPNDT Dr. Vishwajit Rathi said that an FIR was lodged in the City Police Station against Dr. Garima Balhara and Dr. Yogesh Balhara under MTP Act, Drugs and Cosmetics Act and BNS Act for performing illegal abortion in the clinic. City Police Station Police arrested the doctor couple and started investigation.
