Palwal: Massive fire in animal fodder

Palwal: In Bata village of Palwal district, late Wednesday night, more than half a dozen animal fodder sacks caught fire suddenly, due to which straw worth lakhs of rupees from seven farmers was burned to ashes.

By the time the fire brigade vehicle could control the fire, the straw had completely burned to ashes. The fire brigade team, which arrived after receiving the information, controlled the fire after a lot of hard work.

In Bata village, around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, smoke was seen rising due to a sudden fire in the straw sacks, on seeing which the villagers reached the spot. By the time the villagers could understand anything, the fire had taken a terrible form. At the same time, a villager informed the fire brigade about the fire. According to the villagers, by the time the fire brigade vehicle reached the village at around 1 o’clock late at night, the straw sacks of Hukam, Satish, Dharampal, Arvind, Rajendra, Krishna, and Harkesh, residents of the village, had burned to ashes.

Villagers said that it is not yet known how the fire started. But the animal fodder worth lakhs of rupees for the said farmers was burned to ashes due to the fire. Villagers have demanded from the district administration and the government that the affected farmers be given compensation so that they can buy fodder for their animals.
