17 cows recovers from a truck in Faridabad

Faridabad: In Faridabad, Haryana,17 cows brought in a canter, were freed by Gau Rakshaks from behind the Adarsh Nagar police station in Ballabhgarh. The canter has also been seized. Two of the recovered cows had died. Gau Rakshaks claim that they were being taken to Nuh for slaughter on the occasion of Eid. The canter driver and the cow smuggler fled in the dark. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot. After investigation, the cows were sent to the cowshed.

Giving information, Gau Rakshak Shiva Dahiya said that he and his team had received information at 11:00 p.m. last night that a large number of cows were being taken from Uttar Pradesh in a canter to the Mewat district of Haryana for slaughter. He, along with his team, alerted all the Gau Rakshaks of Faridabad, including Palwal and Hodal. All the teams started looking for the canter in their respective areas.

Shiva Dahiya said that as soon as the canter was trying to board the Mumbai Vadodara Express via KMP, the team of Gau Rakshaks recognized it and signalled it to stop. But the cow smugglers, along with the driver, started running away with the canter. When the team of Gau Rakshaks chased them, the accused hit several vehicles, reached the Adarsh Nagar police station, and fled, leaving the canter full of cows behind the Adarsh Nagar police station. The police were also informed about the incident on Dial 112.

Police ASI Surendra, who reached the spot, said that a total of 17 cows had been recovered from the canter. Two of them were dead. The cow smugglers managed to escape, and to catch them, teams of the Crime Branch were formed. The recovered live cows have been sent to the Gaushala in Shahpura.
