Mortuary backlog: Bodies line up as Postmortem wait extends to 24 hours

Gurugram: In the Millennium City, there has been a queue of bodies in the mortuary for the last three days. One after the other, more than 60 bodies have reached the mortuary for a postmortem in the last three days. Out of these 60 bodies, 18 are unidentified. The cause of their deaths is also not yet known. In such a situation, it is believed that most of these 18 people have died due to heat.

So many bodies were brought for postmortem that once again the memories of the Corona period was refreshed. More than 60 bodies have arrived here during the last three days. As there was less space inside the postmortem house, the bodies were lined up outside. Now the waiting has started for the postmortem. People have to wait for 24 to 30 hours.

On the other hand, health department officials say that no one has died due to the heat wave in the district so far, nor has any serious patient suffering from heat reached the civil hospital for treatment. Employees working in the mortuary say that the number of dead bodies has increased since the last three days. During the post-mortem, there were no marks of any kind of injury on the bodies of most of the dead bodies.

There has been severe heat in the city for the last three days. While the number of patients suffering from heat has increased in the civil hospital, the number of deaths has also increased. An average of 20 dead bodies have been post-mortemed in the mortuary in the last three days. The employees are in a panic due to so many dead bodies reaching the mortuary. Employees say that this situation has happened for the first time since Corona. Normally, 5 to 10 dead bodies were post-mortemed every day, but in the last three days, an average of 20 dead bodies have been post-mortemed.

There is chaos in the mortuary due to the large number of dead bodies.

Here, three to four dead bodies are kept one above the other. Due to a lack of space in the deep freezer, some dead bodies have been kept on the floor. The situation is such that information about which body is kept where is also being written in a separate register.
