Karnal: The issue has heated up again over the demand for a separate Gurudwara Committee in Haryana. The Sikh community has called for a Mahapanchayat on this issue. This Mahapanchayat will be held on June 23 at Tarawadi Gurudwara.
Sikh community representative and Sarpanch of Saunkara village, Ladi Pradhan, said that the Sikh community has been struggling for a long time to form a separate Gurudwara Management Committee in Haryana. He said that for this, Sikhs had to go to jail and also had to stop trains. The case was fought in the Supreme Court, and there too, victory was achieved.
Ladi Pradhan said that the Honorable Supreme Court had issued a notification to the Haryana government to create a separate vote for Sikhs and conduct elections under the Election Commission so that representatives of the Sikh community could handle the services of the Gurudwaras.
Ladi Pradhan alleged that the Haryana government, on the contrary, formed an Adopt Committee and ran this committee for 18 months.
According to him, this committee committed corruption for 18 months, used the vehicles of Gurudwara Sahib for personal use, and misused money.
Even after 18 months, elections were not held. Now the Haryana government is preparing to form an adoption committee again so that looting can be done again through the committee.
Ladi Pradhan clarified that the members fighting for a separate committee never changed Pradhan. Earlier, Jagdeep Singh Jinda was the Pradhan. When the adoptive committee was formed, its 38 members kept fighting among themselves for their seats for 18 months and gave Rs 15 lakh each to the lawyers of the High Court. But no member of the struggle committee fought for the seat of Pradhan.
Ladi Pradhan said that the Sikh community will not tolerate the adoption committee at all now. The Haryana government will have to conduct elections so that the Sikh community can choose its representative and the same representative can take care of the services of the Gurudwaras. Important decisions are expected to be taken on this issue in the upcoming Maha Panchayat to be held in Tarawadi Gurudwara on June 23. Leaders and representatives of the Sikh community will attend this panchayat and decide the future strategy.
