Panipat : In a brutal murder case that took place in the district about 3 years ago, the court has sentenced the culprit to life imprisonment. Advocate Yashpal Bhardwaj of the victim’s side told that on July 2, 2020, a friend had brutally murdered his own friend in Ata village.
The culprit had cut the body into small pieces with a sharp weapon, kept it in a bag and threw it in the neighbour’s house. In this case, an FIR was lodged on July 3 under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC. He said that 14 witnesses were summoned for testimony in the court proceedings, which included eyewitnesses and police witnesses.
Now the court has sentenced the culprit to life imprisonment under section 302 of the IPC and a fine of Rs 25,000 and under section 201 of the IPC, 7 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000. This is a historic decision of the court.
