Karnal: A 34-year-old youth died in a tragic road accident in Assandh police station area in Karnal, Haryana. He was hit by a tractor and died on the spot due to serious head injuries. The family has accused the tractor driver of driving recklessly. The police handed over the body to the family after postmortem. Assandh police has registered a case and started investigation.

Suresh Kumar, a resident of Gagsina village, was a farmer. At around 8:50 pm, he went to Gullarpur village with Ravindra Singh of his own village to load sand into the tractor. Ravindra was driving the tractor and Suresh was sitting with him. On the way, Suresh got off the tractor to defecate near Pakka Kheda village.

A tragic accident occurred as soon as the brake was removed

The deceased’s cousin Vinod said that when Suresh came near the tractor while returning from defecation, suddenly the driver Ravindra Singh’s foot came off the brake. The speeding tractor collided with Suresh. The collision was so severe that Suresh’s head hit the road directly and he died on the spot. After the accident, Ravindra fled from there with the tractor.

Family members said – the collision happened due to negligence

In a statement given to the police, Vinod Kumar, the cousin of the deceased, said that Suresh Kumar was unmarried and was a farmer. The deceased was one of three brothers. He accused the tractor driver Ravindra Singh of negligent driving and demanded legal action.

Police registered a case, investigation is underway

On receiving information about the accident, the police reached the spot and kept the body of Suresh Kumar in the mortuary of the Government Hospital, Assandh and handed over the body to the family after the postmortem the next day. Investigating officer Yogesh said that the police have registered a case against Ravindra Singh on the basis of Vinod Kumar’s statement.
