Roadways bus full of passengers fell into ditch in Haryana

Panchkula: On Monday, a Haryana Roadways bus fell into a ditch in Kalka, Panchkula, Haryana. The bus was coming to Kalka from the village of Dakhrog. 50 passengers have been injured in the accident. These include schoolchildren as well.

As soon as the information about the bus accident was received, there was a stir in the administration. The injured were taken out of the ditch and brought to Sector 6 Hospital in Panchkula. Administrative and police officers arrived here.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister Aseem Goyal has suspended the bus driver and conductor. Orders have also been given to form a committee to investigate the accident. Along with this, instructions have been given to run two new buses there in the morning.

According to eyewitnesses, about 70–80 passengers on the bus fell into the ditch. The cause of the accident is believed to be overloading and a bad road.

According to the information, the Roadways minibus halts for the night at the village of Dakhrog, surrounded by high-hill forests, about 15 km from Pinjore. In the morning, students and other people going to school and college come to Pinjore, Kalka, by boarding this bus. On Monday morning also, this bus left for Kalka.

Due to rain at night, there was a lot of water and mud on this narrow hill road. Meanwhile, this bus full of passengers lost balance and fell into a deep ditch. People say that there were more passengers on the bus, and secondly, the driver was driving it at a high speed. The bus accident happened on the slope.

Eyewitness Om Prakash told us that this accident happened in front of the hotel. There were more passengers on the bus than its capacity. About 70–80 children were sitting on the bus. The bus came at high speed on the turn and fell straight into the ditch.

After getting information about the accident, Panchkula DC Yash Garg and SP Himadri Kaushik reached Sector 6 Hospital. They inquired about the condition of the injured. During this time, former Kalka MLA Lalita Sharma and the BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Ambala, Banto Kataria, also reached the hospital.

Panchkula CMO, Dr. Mukta Kumar, said that 20 children have been brought to Sector 6 Civil Hospital. The woman for whom the bus overturned has been referred to PGI in critical condition. Some injured people have also been admitted to the hospital in Pinjore.
