A new fraud case has come to light in Ambala, Haryana. The cyber fraudsters have cheated a 10th class student of Rs 1 lakh in the name of giving cricket trials. After which the father came to know about this whole matter, he has filed a complaint with the police and demanded action in this matter.
Praveen Kumar, a resident of Barara, told that he has a medical store in his village Tandwal. His younger son Yash Pundir is studying in 10th class. On February 7, he received a call on his mobile, which was picked up by his son Yash. After which they swindled the money from his account through OTP. Now the police is investigating this matter.
Praveen said that on the call received from BCCI on his phone, he told his son Yash that he is speaking on behalf of BCCI and trials of under 14 year old candidates are to be held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium Panchkula. For which, he asked him to put 1500 rupees on Google Pay. The son put 1500 rupees on Google Pay.
Asked for OTP for uniform size
After that, the person asked Yash for the size of the uniform and asked for OTP. Yash gave the OTP to that person. Father Praveen said that when he checked his passbook, he was stunned to see the status of the account. One lakh rupees were found missing from his account.
After which a complaint was given to the police. Now the police has started investigating the whole matter. Police say that the accused are being identified on the basis of account number. The accused will be arrested soon.
