Gurugram : A 54-year-old pav bhaji vendor, originally from Bihar’s Madhubani district, contesting as an Independent candidate from Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency, marking his fourth attempt in general elections.
Kusheshwar Bhagat has previously contested three Lok Sabha elections, as well as twice in Assembly and Presidential polls. His motivation stems from a desire to challenge established leaders and address the deficiencies in Gurugram’s education and healthcare systems.
In the current Lok Sabha elections, Haryana is witnessing heightened campaigning, with Gurugram alone hosting 26 candidates. Bhagat, who has been operating a pav bhaji stall in Gurugram’s Sector-15 for four decades, ventured into this business after acquiring culinary skills in Mumbai.
His decision to enter politics reflects a response to public demand for change and a perceived lack of solutions to the numerous issues facing the constituency.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the incumbent leadership, Bhagat believes that the electorate is eager for a new direction. He asserts his confidence in securing victory by a significant margin, citing a demand for change and a disillusionment with the current administration’s two-decade-long tenure.
