Hisar: An incident of violent clash between the electricity department and the villagers has come to light in Sulkhani village of Barwala area of Hisar district of Haryana. When the team of the electricity department reached to remove the meters of 21 defaulter consumers, the situation became tense. Three employees of the electricity department, ALM Jarnail Singh, ALM Rahul Saini and lineman Suraj Bhan were injured as they were attacked by the peoplein the incident. Seriously injured Jarnail Singh has been admitted to the General Hospital of Hisar.
On the complaint of SDO Dinesh Kumar of Baro Patti, the police have registered a case against Gurmeet, Manu and others for obstructing government work and attacking the employees with sticks. On the other hand, consumer Gurmeet claims that his previous bill has been paid and the current bill has come wrong. He alleged that the employees beat him up, due to which his eardrum burst and his hand was injured by a screwdriver.
A video of the incident has also surfaced. In which an employee was taking down the meter from the electric pole. During this, a young man and a woman protested, which led to a scuffle. Dhansu’s ALM Rahul Saini, who was making the video, said that the young man threatened him that he would have to leave only after getting the meter connection installed. The police is investigating the matter and recording statements of both the parties.
