Protest by Patwaris and Kanungos in Hisar, Employees angry with ‘list of corruption’

Hisar: A big protest was held by Patwaris and Kanungos in Haryana against the functioning of the government. In Hisar, Patwaris took out a protest march from HAU Gate No. 4 to the Mini Secretariat and demonstrated by wearing black bands. The protesters submitted a memorandum to Revenue Minister Vipul Goyal through the DC.

According to Balbir, leader of ‘The Revenue Patwari and Kanungo Association’, a list declaring Patwaris as corrupt was issued on January 16 without any departmental investigation, which is a violation of constitutional values.

The district head of the organization, Azad Singh Bishnoi, said that this list is completely baseless and should be investigated.

Patwaris and Kanungos have protested in all 22 districts of the state. They will work wearing black bands for the next three days. There are only 1200 Patwaris working in a total of 6000 villages in Haryana.

Patwaris have warned that they will now work only in their original area and will not take additional charge. Patwaris said that their protest would continue until the government returned their lost respect.
