PGI doctor’s strike continues: Follow-up patients treated in OPD amid ongoing protest

Chandigarh: Resident doctors’ strike continues in Chandigarh’s PGI today on Monday in protest against the rape-murder of a doctor in Kolkata hospital. All doctors are protesting. During this, doctors are wearing black bands on their hands. Doctors are demanding that the Central Protection Act be implemented.

So that strict action can be taken against those who carry out such incidents. Also, they have demanded strict punishment for the accused doctor who became the victim of the incident. A candle march will be taken out by the doctors in the evening.

Due to the strike, OPD services were run in a limited manner in PGI from 8 am to 9:30 am today. During this time, old registered patients were examined. While no decision has been taken yet regarding new patients. Emergency services are running as before.

The faculty of PGI has also given a memorandum to the director. In this, they have mentioned some dark spots. They have been asked to improve them. In this, CCTV cameras are not working in some places; they have been asked to be fixed.

The lights that are not working on campus have been asked to be fixed. They have got assurance from there that work will start in this direction soon. Because it is often seen that after the duty is over, doctors leave for home on foot.
