Accident in Sewan: Women going to plant paddy in field hit by speeding pickup, ten injured

A road accident took place near Siwan town on Monday morning. In this accident, a group of women travelling in a Tata S vehicle who were going to the fields to plant paddy were hit by a speeding pickup driver. Eight to ten women were injured in the accident, one of whom is said to be in a critical condition.

This accident took place on the Kaithal-Patiala main road, about three kilometres from Siwan. The women were travelling in a Tata S vehicle from Siwan to the fields to plant paddy, when a pickup coming from Kaithal at a high speed hit them from behind. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was out of control, and the accident occurred due to the driver losing control. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Dial 112 vehicle reached the spot immediately.

The 112 team showed promptness and started relief and rescue operations and after providing first aid to the injured on the spot, they were admitted to the government hospital in Kaithal.

The hospital administration said that all the injured are undergoing treatment. The police have taken the pickup vehicle into custody, and an investigation has been started to identify the driver and the cause of the accident. According to preliminary information, the accident occurred due to high speed and careless driving.
