Armed robbers snatch scooty and Rs 7.75 in Sirsa heist

Sirsa: A big robbery took place in Kalanwali, Sirsa, Haryana, on Monday. Armed robbers snatched the scooty from the man who was going to deposit cash in the bank. There was Rs 7.75 lakh cash in the scooter. As soon as the incident was reported, the Dial 112 team reached the spot. Police also blocked the city, but no clue of the robbers has been found yet. Police are searching the CCTV footage installed nearby.

According to the information, Vipin, a resident of Kalanwali, runs a Mitra Bank in front of the old Mandal Railway Station in Kalanwali. On Monday morning, at around 10:30, his father, Harbans Lal, was going to the bank to deposit cash with his scooter. He had cash of about Rs 6.40 lakh in the scooter’s trunk.

When he reached near the breaker on the old Panchratna Cinema Road, three masked miscreants riding on two bikes stopped him by showing sharp weapons.

The miscreants threatened to kill him and snatched his scooty and then fled towards the Punjab Bus Stand. Harbans immediately informed us about the incident on Dial 112. After this, SHO Vikram also reached the spot with his team and inspected the spot. Police have also got a blockade in the city so that the robbers can be traced. Police are also investigating the CCTV footage.
