Rohtak: Engineer’s wife duped of Rs 11.99 lakh in the name of part-time job

The wife of an engineer resident of Roorkee village in Rohtak was duped of Rs 11.99 lakh by a fraudster on the pretext of a part-time job. The fraudsters almost doubled the amount deposited earlier. This made the woman greedy and she lost her hard-earned money. A case of fraud has been registered by the woman in the cyber police station. The police have started investigating the matter.

Sakshi, a resident of Roorkee village, is a housewife and her husband is a biomedical engineer. On May 12, a link was sent to her Telegram in the name of Kanvika. When she talked about a part-time job in the link, she refused on the message itself. When she kept messaging continuously for several days, he sent a message again on June 9. In this, he made her fill a form through the link and said that a review has to be done for a tourist place.

On that pretext, first Rs 872 was deposited in her account. When his greed increased, he made her deposit Rs 10,000 and in lieu of that, Rs 17,000 started appearing in her account. In this way, they kept depositing money and the amount kept increasing on the app. From 13th to 15th June, they were duped of Rs 11.99 lakh in 6 installments.
