Violent protests erupt in Rohtak following arrest of alleged drug smuggler

Rohtak: In Rohtak’s village, Nidana, the family of the accused clashed with the police, who came to arrest the accused for drug smuggling. They prevented the police from arresting the accused. They also threatened to kill by abusing others. The situation deteriorated so much that an additional police force had to be called from the police station. After this, a case was registered against the accused’s two sons and wife in Bahu Akbarpur police station.

The matter is off Monday evening, and an FIR was registered against the accused late at night. Inspector Karambir Singh of Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) Special Staff has lodged a complaint at Bahu Akbarpur police station for obstructing government work, threatening to kill, and abusing. In the complaint, it was told that a case has been registered against Ashwani alias Bittu, resident of Rohtak’s village Nidana, in the Salhawas police station of district Jhajjar under the NDPS Act. To arrest the accused, he reached his house with his team. During this, Ashwani was found there.

He said that, when they started taking Ashwani in the car after arresting him, his wife and his son started freeing the accused and blocked the way. The accused’s son started making a video and said that his father should leave Ashwani or else he would kill him. After this, the Bahu Akbarpur police station SHO was informed about the incident.

At the same time, the accused, Ashwani, was arrested and brought to the police station. After this, a complaint was lodged in the police station against the two sons and wife of the accused, Ashwani. At the same time, the Bahu Akbarpur police station registered a case against Ashwani’s wife Saroj, son Amit, and Ashish, residents of village Nidana, under various sections, including obstructing a government office.
