Traffic dispute escalates: Husband and wife clash with police personnel in Jind

Jind: A scuffle broke out between a bike-riding couple and traffic police personnel near Pindara Bridge on the Gohana Road bypass in Jind, Haryana, on Friday. In this, ASI Jagbir Singh’s uniform was torn, and he was injured. Here, the couple has accused the police personnel of assault and misbehaviour. The Civil Line Police has registered a case against the husband and wife on the complaint of ASI Jagbir.

According to the information, on Friday, a motorcycle-riding couple from village Julani was coming from Gohana Road with their son. During that time, the traffic police were checking the documents of vehicles under the Pindara Bridge. The police signalled for the couple to stop because the bike rider was not wearing a helmet.

The couple alleges that as soon as the motorcycle was stopped, the police employee started abusing him. When he protested, he was beaten up. In this, the youth also got injured, and the police personnel also suffered minor injuries.

Traffic police station urban in-charge Sultan Singh said that the youth was not wearing a helmet and was driving the motorcycle with a small girl sitting in front of him. When he was stopped and asked for documents, he got into an argument with them. The couple also tore the uniform of ASI Jagbir while assaulting him. Jagbir Singh has been injured and has been admitted to the civil hospital.

The police have registered a case against the couple for obstructing government work, tearing the uniform, and scuffling. The couple alleges that the police personnel misbehaved with them and beat them up, even though they were not at fault.
