SHO arrested in Ambala for taking 30,000 bribe to allow dumpers across border

Ambala: In Ambala, Haryana, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) team caught an SHO red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000. According to the complainant, the officer was demanding a monthly bribe from him in exchange for getting the dumper out of the Barara border.

The complainant was upset with these actions of the SHO for a long time, so he complained about it to the ACB. Late in the evening of January 27, the ACB team made a plan and sent the complainant to the SHO with the money and then as soon as he took the money, the team arrested the officer.

The ACB team has registered a case against the accused and investigation has been started.

Bribe demanded to let 8 dumpers cross the border

Complainant Narendra Kumar was lifting soil with his dumpers and dumping it on a road under construction. Since his 8 dumpers used to pass through the border of Barara, the SHO demanded 30 thousand rupees from him as a monthly bribe. The complainant was very upset with this attitude and corruption of the SHO, he did not want to give him money. After that he filed complaint to ACB.

The team made a plan and caught the accused 

The complainant was upset with the officer for a long time, after which he complained about it to the ACB team on January 27. The team heard the whole case and then laid a trap to catch the officer red handed. As per the plan, the team sent the complainant to the SHO with 30 thousand rupees.

As soon as the SHO took this amount, the ACB team arrested him. This entire action was done with transparency in the presence of witnesses.

SHO Gulshan Kumar was posted in Barada police station since August 16, 2023. Haryana ACB chief Alok Mittal has said on this matter that – if the SHO has taken bribe from any other person, then he can also give information to the team.

Case filed against SHO

A case has been filed against the accused SHO in ACB, Ambala under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. ACB has claimed that it will continue to take action against corrupt officers and employees.
