Two cops injured in firing on police van carrying prisoners in West Bengal

The tension between the two parties over the bidding of land near the Yamuna bridge on the Bahalgarh-Baghpat road in Sonipat increased so much that one party openly fired 2-3 rounds from a pistol. One person was injured in this quarrel. The incident took place on June 22 at around 11:40 pm.

Mukesh, a resident of Khevda village, has lodged a complaint at the Bahalgarh police station that he runs a contract of animal toll near the Haryana-UP border. At the same time, Vishal alias Leelu, a resident of Garh Mirkpur, reached there in his car and started threatening him over the bidding of the village panchayat’s land. It is alleged that Vishal took out a pistol and fired 2-3 rounds in the air and threatened to kill Mukesh.

Mukesh told that in self-defense, he picked up a wooden stick and hit Vishal on his feet, due to which he got injured. As soon as the incident was reported, ASI Satyawan reached the spot and the injured Vishal was admitted to the government hospital.

Evidence collected from spot

The police called the FSL team to investigate the incident spot. The team comprising Dr. Krishna and fingerprint expert Nidhi, collected evidence. Bahalgarh police station has registered a case under sections 351(3), 287 BNS 2023 of IPC and sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act and started investigation.
