NEET UG irregularities: CBI registers first FIR

Chandigarh: The central government handed over the responsibility of investigation to the CBI on Saturday (June 22) regarding the irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. A day after this, i.e., today, June 23, CBI registered the first FIR in this case.

This FIR has been registered against unknown people based on some references received from the Education Ministry under many other sections, including IPC sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating). The CBI has formed special teams to investigate this matter.

Special teams of the CBI are being sent to Patna and Godhra.

Earlier, the central government removed NTA (National Testing Agency) Director General Subodh Kumar Singh at 9 p.m. on Saturday. Pradeep Singh Kharola was appointed as the new DG in his place.

At the same time, re-examination is going on today for 1563 candidates who got grace marks in the result of the NEET exam held on May 5. The exam is scheduled between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. An exam center was made for only two candidates in Chandigarh, and both of them did not reach it.

Many candidates did not appear in the NEET-UG re-examination.

The NTA released the admit cards for the re-examination on June 20. The results will be released by June 30. After the revised result is released, counseling will start on July 6.

An exam is being held in six cities.

A NEET re-examination is being held in those six cities, where grace marks were given to the children due to a loss of time. Re-examination is in these six cities, but the examination centers have been changed. These six cities are:

2)Dantewada, Chhattisgarh
3)Surat, Gujarat
4)Meghalaya, Meghalaya
5)Bahadurgarh, Haryana
6)Chandigarh
