Metro will run at a speed of 80 KM per hour in OLD Gurugram

Haryana: The design of the metro project in Old-Gurugram will be built according to 90 kilometres per hour. On this route, the metro will run on the track at a speed of 80 kilometers. On Friday, Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) Managing Director Dr. Chandrashekhar Khare told this while inspecting the metro project route.

The work of geotechnical survey going on in 13 kilometers will be completed in the month of June. Detailed design consultants and general consultants will be appointed in the month of June. Preparations have started to start the work of metro construction as soon as possible.

Dr. Chandrashekhar Khare said that the metro route will be designed in such a way that it provides multi-modal integrated transport facility to the residents of the city. It will be ensured that it is well connected to buses and auto rickshaws to ensure connectivity till the last mile. Soon we will start the process of forming an organization for GMRL. Technical experts will be appointed in it. Consultants will be appointed soon to take the project forward.

Inspected the proposed metro depots in Sector-33 and Sector-101. GMRL Managing Director said that a decision on depot construction will be taken after detailed discussions with all stakeholders. He said that the metro will be developed as an inclusive, friendly and accessible transport facility especially for women, children, senior citizens and Divyang. The design of the project will ensure the needs of the city dwellers.

On February 16, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the metro project. The 28.5 km long metro is to be constructed in old Gurugram at a cost of Rs 5452 crore. It will have 27 elevated stations. This route will start from Millennium City Center Metro Station, which will go to Cyber ​​Hub via Bakhtawar Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Sector 4/5, Palam Vihar.
