Chief Justice of India Dr. DY Chandrachud to attend 37th convocation of PGI in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Today is the 37th conference in Chandigarh PGI. In which the Chief Justice of India, Dr. DY Chandrachud, is attending as the chief guest. He will reach Chandigarh PGI at 10:30 am.

Here he will honour 80 doctors who have done better work in the field of medical education by giving them medals. At the same time, 508 doctors will be given degrees. This is the first time in the history of Chandigarh PGI that a Chief Justice is attending the convocation of the institute.

Before reaching PGI, he inaugurated a national conference in Punjab and Haryana High Court. This national conference has been organized on the use of technology in the court. Judges from different parts of the country have reached here. On this occasion, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that technology will make an important contribution to making the judiciary accessible to the common citizens. Technology should be used to ensure justice at everyone’s doorstep. The third phase of the e-court is about to start. A budget of Rs 7,000 crore has also been given for this by the central government.

During the convocation, 15 gold medals will be given to the doctors for the years 2022–23. Dr. Piyush Agarwal and Dr. Apoorv Sharma will be given the Kataria Memorial Gold Medal, and five will be given this medal in the Major General Amir Chand Gold Medal category.

Apart from Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, many other guests will also attend this program. Professor GD Puri, Executive Director, All India Institute of Medical Science, Jodhpur, has been invited as Guest of Honor. Apart from this, some judges from Punjab and Haryana High Court can also attend this program. This program will be organized in the Bhargava Auditorium of PGI.
