Dwarka Expressway set to open for the Gurugram people

Haryana: An underpass connecting the Basai flyover on the Dwarka Expressway to Gurugram’s Sector 102 and 102A is set to open on Monday. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a statement giving this information.

This underpass is four-lane and 548 meters long. Its purpose is to smoothen the flow of traffic on both sides and provide easy access to Sector 102, 102A, 103, 106, Kherki Majra, Basai, Dhankot and other nearby places.

According to the project authorities, the road surface has been built, all the lights have been installed and the finishing touches are being given.

According to media reports, a senior official of a company associated with the project said, “The underpass will open by Monday. We have installed all the necessary fixtures, which are currently being cleaned.”

Moreover, according to a senior GMDA official, the underpass will soon connect to the proposed road from Sector 102-102A to AIIMS in Bhadsa village in Jhajjar.

Due to this link road, residents of Gurugram will be able to commute to Jhajjar and other hospitals. The road will be built by the Public Works Department (PWD), which will pass through Mandkola, Budhera and Dhankot villages. The process of land acquisition has already started.

The Basai overpass was inaugurated in April 2023 by the then Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. However, to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the construction work, the NHAI had to build service roads on both sides of the underpass. NHAI officials said that the completion of the underpass was delayed due to legal disputes over land acquisition on the western side of the Dwarka Expressway.
