Ambala: A woman gave birth to twin girls in a civil hospital in Ambala Cantt, Haryana. Surprisingly, both girls have separate bodies, but their hearts are the same. Such a unique case was seen during the delivery in Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt, late Thursday night. The delivery of the woman was normal, but seeing the condition of the girls deteriorate, the doctors referred the newborn girls to PGI Chandigarh.

Surprisingly, the newborn girls were referred back to Ambala Cantt Civil Hospital from PGI Chandigarh. From here, they were again referred to PGI, but the doctors again sent them back to Ambala from Chandigarh.

Troubled by the actions of the doctors, the family took the newborn girls to their home.

Chunchun, originally a resident of village Samastipur in Bihar, lives on rent with his wife Shakuntala in HUDA Sector-34, Ambala Cantt. Chunchun had admitted his wife, Shakuntala, to the civil hospital due to labor pain. Here, the doctor had predicted the possibility of twins in Shakuntala’s womb. When the normal delivery took place, it was found that the chest and stomach of both girls were joined, but the part above the chest and the part below the stomach were different.

Both the twin girls were born in Ambala.

According to the doctors of the civil hospital, after the delivery, an ultrasound of the newborn girls was done, which revealed that the bodies of the newborn girls were different but both had the same heart. The doctors first kept the newborn girls in Nikku Ward for care. When the condition deteriorated, they were referred to PGI Chandigarh, but the doctors there sent them back to Ambala.

Chunchun said that he already has a son and a daughter. On Thursday night, his wife had labor pain. He took them to Civil Hospital Ambala Cantt at night itself. When the delivery took place here, it was found that they were twin girls. Both were joined at the chest. From here, the doctor referred the girls to PGI Chandigarh, but no doctor at PGI saw them and sent them back to Ambala.

He reached Ambala Civil Hospital, but at noon on Friday, he was again referred to Chandigarh. Instead of admitting them there, he sent them back to Ambala. When the girls were not admitted anywhere, he took them to his home.
