Panipat: A young man died after being hit by a train in Panipat, Haryana. The young man was returning home from the shop. On the way, when he started crossing the railway line, he suddenly came under the grip of the Shatabdi Express and died on the spot. The pilot complained about the accident on the control room number.
On receiving the information, GRP reached the spot. After taking all the necessary action on the spot, the body was sent to the civil hospital.
The deceased was identified by his mobile phone and other documents recovered from his clothes, and his family members were also informed. On receiving the information, the family also reached the hospital. Where they identified the body. On Thursday, the police took action under Section 174 of CrPC on the basis of the statements of the family members, got the post-mortem done, and handed over the body to the family members.
According to the information received from the police, the deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Suraj, a resident of Tilak Colony, Panipat.
Suraj used to work at a hardware shop in Kishanpura.
For the last 5 years, he has been working at the shop. As usual, he was returning home on Wednesday evening. He often used to wear earphones in his ears while going to and coming from home to the shop.
On Wednesday, he was also crossing the railway line wearing earphones.
But he did not notice the Shatabdi Express coming at the other gate and got hit by it.
