Youth duped of Rs 5.88 Lakh on pretext of online part-time job

Panipat: A youth from Model Town in Panipat city became a victim of cyber fraud. The fraudsters cheated the youth of Rs 5 lakh 88 thousand in pretext of getting him an online part-time job. The fraudsters kept giving him tasks and kept taking money by promising more profits.

On realizing that he was cheated, the youth complained about it to the police. The police have registered a case based on the complaint lodged by Youth.

In the complaint given to the police, Rahul Chawla said that he is a resident of Shanti Nagar, Model Town. On August 18 and August 19, he received a message for an online part-time job on his Telegram ID. He chatted with the person who sent the message.

During this, he was lured to earn more money to complete the task. He fell into his trap. Falling into his trap, he transferred Rs 5 lakh 88 thousand 500 from his account to different accounts.

He kept completing the tasks. Profit kept getting added to his task account. When he tried to withdraw the amount, it did not come out. The fraudsters were giving him more tasks and asking him to invest more money. After which he came to know that he had been cheated. Rahul lodged a complaint about the fraud with the police. Police is investigating the matter.
