New Delhi: After the tragic incident in Kolkata, the Union Health Ministry has written to all heads of the Central Government Hospitals and Institutes to enhance security in hospitals. The Union Health Ministry has written in its letter that the security of medical staff, doctors, and other people in hospitals should be strengthened.
For this, security guards should be appointed in hospitals. Control rooms should be set up in hospitals and security personnel should be present there 24 hours a day. The Health Ministry has written that CCTV cameras should be installed in hospitals.
The ministry has expressed concern and said that often the atmosphere in hospitals becomes tense when proper treatment is not provided or a patient dies due to some reason. The ministry has also emphasized in its letter that special arrangements should be made for the security of women employees and doctors who are on duty in hospitals at night. Transport facility should also be provided to bring and take them to the hospital.
