Himachal Gorge Accident Kills Mother and Son

Manali: A car plunged into a gorge at Gramphu, a tourist spot in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. A mother and her son lost their lives in the accident, while another woman sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred late Wednesday evening. According to the police, Deepak Kumar Singh a resident of Siyaram Enclave, Wodse Gurugram, Haryana had come to Himachal for a visit in his car (MH 14LP-9048). He had parked his vehicle by the roadside near Gramphu.

Vehicle Lost Control and Plunged into the Gorge

There were three people inside the car at the time of the accident. Suddenly, the parked vehicle lost control and fell into a deep gorge. Deepak Kumar Singh’s 26-year-old wife, Tanu Kumari, and their 11-month-old son, Daksh Kumar Singh, sustained severe injuries from the fall. Both were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Manali, where the medical officer declared them dead.

One Woman Critically Injured

The third passenger in the car, 52-year-old Savita Devi, was critically injured in the accident. She is a native of Bhikhanpura village, Desari, in the Vaishali district of Bihar. Savita Devi is currently undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Manali.

Lahaul-Spiti SP Shivani Mehla confirmed the incident. She stated that relief and rescue operations were initiated immediately after receiving the information. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident.
