Heatwave was felt today in the plains of Himachal Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, a heatwave in the afternoon in Dharamshala of Kangra, Una, and Bhuntar of Kullu caused inconvenience to the people.
The maximum temperature in Una today reached 41.1 degrees Celsius, which is 6 degrees above normal. This is the hottest day of this season. The record temperature for Una in the month of April so far is 43.2 degrees Celsius, recorded on April 30, 2022.
The average maximum temperature of the state has also become 5.1 degrees higher than normal. The mercury in Kangra rose to 37.2 degrees with an 8-degree spike, in Sundernagar to 36 degrees, in Mandi to 36.2 degrees, and in Barthi to 35.7 degrees Celsius.
Yellow alert in 4 districts tomorrow
In other cities as well, temperatures have risen 4 to 6 degrees above normal. The relief is that from tomorrow (Saturday) there may be some respite from the heat. According to the Meteorological Department, from tonight a fresh western disturbance is becoming active. In view of this, a yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms in some parts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Shimla.
On Friday afternoon, 0.4 millimeters of rain was recorded in Sangla, Kinnaur, and 0.1 millimeters in Kalpa. The western disturbance is expected to weaken slightly on April 26 and 27. There are chances of rain in the hills again from April 28 to 30.
Shimla and Manali have also started heating up
Along with the plains, high and medium altitude areas have also started to get hot. Shimla’s temperature has risen to 27.6 degrees, 5.1 degrees above normal, and Manali’s has risen to 26.8 Celsius, an increase of 4.3 degrees.
