FIRs against four pharma stores; two suspended

The police have tightened their grip on the case of a Chinese national arrested in McLeodganj without valid documents. They have also filed an FIR against the local landlord for sheltering the foreign national, ignoring security regulations. The FIR was filed for violating provisions of the Foreigners Act.

An investigation revealed that a local family in McLeodganj had housed Lou Wennian, a Chinese national and former Chinese police officer, in their home for approximately 130 days. According to regulations, any landlord hosting a foreign national is required to inform the police and register with the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) through a C-Form. However, these rules were violated in this case.

According to the police, neither the local police station nor any details were sent to the FRO regarding the foreign national’s stay, further increasing the concerns of security agencies.

The Chinese national was arrested in McLeodganj on February 2nd without valid documents. The accused is currently in judicial custody until February 19th. Given the sensitivity of the case, he is being extensively questioned by the Himachal Police, as well as the Intelligence Bureau and other central security agencies.

The Security Department of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile is also conducting a separate investigation into this suspicious stay. Police have sent the accused’s mobile phone and laptop to the Forensic Science Laboratory. Preliminary reports have not revealed any suspicious material, but the nature of his activities in Dharamshala over four months remains under investigation.
