Shimla: Monsoon is now going to weaken in Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has not issued any rain alert for the next three days. According to IMD, the weather will remain clear in the state for the next three days, although light rain is expected at some places.
According to IMD, Shimla and Kullu recorded twice the normal rainfall this monsoon season. Kullu received 116% and Shimla received 113% more rainfall. Other districts also received more than normal rainfall. Solan received 78%, Bilaspur 77%, Chamba 35%, Hamirpur 51%, Kangra 16%, Kinnaur 41%, Mandi 70%, Sirmaur 49%, and Una 73% more rainfall.
Property worth Rs 3979 crore destroyed so far
Heavy rains this monsoon season have caused extensive damage in the state. So far, private and government property worth Rs 3979 crore has been damaged. 1087 roads including four national highways are closed. 2838 electricity transformers and 509 drinking water schemes have also been affected.
There were 133 landslides, 95 floods and 45 cloudbursts in the state. Due to these natural disasters, 1078 houses were completely destroyed and 4584 houses were partially damaged.
