Following the conclusion of the elections for Panchayati Raj Institutions in Himachal Pradesh, 33 Junior Engineers in the Public Works Department have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Engineer. The government gave its approval for this immediately after the Model Code of Conduct, imposed due to the elections, was lifted.
Concurrently, the recruitment process for 300 posts across various departments is also expected to commence shortly. Due to the electoral process, a moratorium had been in place for the past several weeks on new appointments, transfers, tenders, and various administrative decisions. The government has now signaled to the departments to expedite the disposal of pending matters.
Preparations have begun to fill vacant posts in the Public Works Department, the Jal Shakti (Water Resources) Department, the Education Department, the Health Department, and other allied departments. The process to fill over 300 posts across various departments is likely to begin soon. Furthermore, long-pending promotion cases will also be resolved.
Tenders for works related to roads, buildings, and other infrastructure projects will be issued by the Public Works Department, the Rural Development Department, and the Urban Development Department. Proposals for road construction and repair works in several districts have already been drafted and are now set to receive approval. The state government’s focus is now also fixed on the upcoming Cabinet meeting. The government is expected to take several key decisions during the Cabinet meeting scheduled for June 6.
