After last night’s rain in several districts of Himachal, the weather has become pleasant. Tourists reaching the hills are enjoying the charming weather. Sarahan received the highest rainfall at 30.0 mm, followed by Palampur 9.4 mm, Rohru 8.0 mm, Manali 6.0 mm, Kotkhai 5.2 mm, and Jogindernagar 1.0 mm. This caused a slight drop in nighttime temperatures.
However, today, in most parts of the state including Shimla, the sky is partly cloudy with light sunshine since morning. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light drizzle in some medium-altitude areas. Meanwhile, the plains of the state have been issued a heat alert.
A yellow alert for heatwave has been issued in the lower areas of Una, Bilaspur, and Solan districts. This will cause a 1 to 2-degree rise in temperatures in the plains, while after light drizzle in the hills, the temperature will remain around normal.
Heavy hailstorm tomorrow and the day after
According to IMD – The western disturbance will be stronger from tonight. Its effect will last until 15th June. Tomorrow and the day after, alerts have been issued in several areas for heavy hailstorms and storms along with heavy rain. An orange alert has been issued for Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts. Crops in these districts may be damaged due to hailstorms and storms.

Except for Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur, a yellow alert has been issued for all other districts for tomorrow and the day after. During this period, a storm is also forecasted to blow at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in many areas. The weather in the state will remain bad until 15th June. This will cause a decrease of two to three degrees in temperature, and the weather in the mountains will remain pleasant.
Temperature in 11 cities crossed 35 degrees
Meanwhile, on the past Tuesday, due to full sunshine throughout the day, a rise in temperature was recorded, and the temperature in 11 cities of the state reached 35 degrees Celsius or more. Una recorded 42.8 degrees Celsius, which is 3.9 degrees higher than normal.
The temperature in Neri of Hamirpur reached 39.1 degrees, Kangra 38.8 degrees, and Mandi and Bilaspur 38 degrees. A rise in temperature was observed in other cities as well. Today, due to the heatwave, the temperature in many cities is expected to rise by one to two degrees.
Weather conditions at the state’s tourist destinations
Although the plains of Himachal are indeed hot, the weather at the state’s famous tourist destinations remains pleasant. Tourists visiting the mountains are enjoying the pleasant weather. Shimla’s maximum temperature is 27.5 degrees, Manali 27.2 degrees, and Kufri is at 23.1 degrees Celsius. At most tourist spots in Lahaul-Spiti, the temperature these days is between 5 to 10 degrees.
