Three young men lost their lives and two others sustained critical injuries in a tragic road accident that occurred on Monday night in the Balh Valley area.
The incident took place when a car (bearing registration number HP82-8322), traveling from Nerchowk towards Sundernagar, collided violently with a Hydra crane parked along the roadside. There were five occupants in the car at the time of the accident.
The impact of the collision was so severe that three of the young men succumbed to their injuries while receiving preliminary medical treatment. The deceased have been identified as Anil Kumar (28) of Palahi, Rohit Kumar (26) of Andretta, and Subhash Kumar (35) of Palahi.
Meanwhile, the two individuals injured in the accident, Harish alias Sunny (23) of Badmah and Pankaj Kumar of Palahi, were referred to AIIMS Bilaspur in critical condition following preliminary treatment, where they are currently undergoing further medical care.
The police have registered a case and have initiated an investigation into the causes of the accident. Preliminary inquiries suggest that speeding was the primary cause of the mishap. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the region.
