On the occasion of Holi in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, two youths died due to drowning in a ravine. Both the youths, who had left home on the pretext of playing Holi, went to take bath in Sir Khadd. Both of them drowned due to slipping into the ravine. Due to this, they died on the spot. The police have registered a case and started further action.
According to the information, after playing Holi on Friday, at around three in the afternoon, both the youths went to the ravine to take a bath. Seeing them drowning, the people present there started shouting. After this, some local swimmers reached the spot and the boys drowned in the ravine and were taken out. This incident is of Sir Khadd in Jhanduta sub-division.
The deceased have been identified as Ashwani Kumar (34) son of Vidhi Chand village Kutheda Jhanduta and Gopal Mani (15) son of Krishna Dev village Mohi Jhanduta. After this accident, the joy of Holi in the entire area turned into mourning and a wave of grief ran across the entire area.
Bodies were taken out with the help of local people
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the team of Jhanduta Police Station reached the spot under the leadership of Inspector Ashwani Kumar. With the help of local people, the youths were taken out of the water, but their lives could not be saved.
The police will get the postmortem of both the bodies done today in Ghumarvi Hospital. After this, the bodies will be handed over to the family members and the last rites of both will be done in the ancestral village in the afternoon.
