Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will present his third budget as Finance Minister tomorrow, Monday. He can present a budget of Rs 60 thousand crores. This time, there is less hope of populist and big announcements from the Sukhu government which is facing economic crisis. But, some announcements can be made to strengthen the rural economy.
Congress came to power by promising to provide 1 lakh jobs every year. But, due to the dissolution of the Staff Selection Commission, the government has been able to provide jobs to very few people till now. The government claims that it has provided jobs to 40 thousand people. The new commission has not become fully functional yet. In such a situation, Chief Minister Sukhu can announce more than 25 thousand recruitments in the budget during the next financial year.
Apart from this, the government undertaking can increase the purchase price of cow and buffalo milk done through Milkfed. New schemes can be announced for natural farming, processing plants based on different crops, agriculture and horticulture and animal husbandry. This time the budget is going to focus on education, health, tourism, social security and raising new sources of income.
Government will increase social security pension
There are more than 8 lakh social security pension holders in the state. People are getting pension ranging from Rs 1100 to Rs 1600 in different categories. An increase in pension is considered certain in this budget. There are more than 10 lakh MNREGA job card holders in rural areas. The CM can announce an increase in their daily wages as well as the minimum wage.
The honorarium of Anganwadi workers and watchmen will increase
There will be an increase in the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and assistants, mid-day meal workers, water carriers, pump operators, daily wage earners, Panchayat Chowkidars, Multi Task Workers, Panchayat Raj and public representatives of local urban bodies etc. working in the government departments of the state.
A big announcement is possible on doctor-nurse recruitment
Big announcements will be seen in tomorrow’s budget regarding the recruitment of doctors, nurses as well as paramedical staff. There will be big announcements regarding the purchase of X-ray, CT scan, MRI and other equipment in all the medical colleges and big hospitals of the state.
