The work of ropeway to Baglamukhi temple has been completed and today (3 December) CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will inaugurate it. This ropeway is considered a big gift for lakhs of devotees coming to Baglamukhi temple. An Austrian company has prepared this ropeway.
It is worth noting that this will be the first ropeway in any government sector of the state. This will promote religious tourism and devotees or elders coming from other states will be able to easily visit Baglamukhi Mata while traveling over the Beas river.
Currently, it takes 40 to 50 minutes to reach Baglamukhi from Pandoh, but with the ropeway, this journey will be completed in the blink of an eye. At the most, it will take 3 minutes. The speed of the ropeway will be a maximum 6 meters / second.
Let us tell you that the Baglamukhi ropeway project has been prepared with the joint efforts of NABARD. The cost of this ropeway is approximately Rs 53.89 crore. However, the initial cost was not so much, but the estimate was only up to Rs 45 crore. But the disaster that came last year increased its cost a lot.
This ropeway is going to prove to be a boon not only for the devotees but also for the people of the adjoining village. Right now the local people are completely dependent on buses and sometimes they have to wait for hours for a bus. With the arrival of the ropeway, movement will become much easier. Let us tell you that the fare for the daily movement of the local people has also been kept at only Rs 30, while for tourists this rate is up to Rs 250 including up-down.
The foundation stone of this ropeway was laid on 6 February 2022 by former CM (currently Leader of Opposition) Jairam Thakur, while the inauguration will be done by the current CM Sukhu. During this, CM Sukhu will also give a gift of crores to the people of Mandi.
