Shimla: The government has given a big relief to the vocational teachers working in the schools of Himachal Pradesh. Teachers will now get 30 days leave in a year. On Wednesday, a meeting of vocational teachers was held with the Education Minister in the Secretariat. In the meeting demands of vocational teachers were discussed. During this, Education Minister Rohit Thakur said that the demands of vocational teachers were discussed in detail, and in view of the leave that the teachers were demanding, it has been decided to give 30 days of leave in a year.

Vocational teachers were demanding removal of the service provider companies and bring them under the Himachal Pradesh State Education Development Corporation. In the meeting, the model of some other states including Haryana was also discussed.

For this, a sub-committee has been formed in the meeting under the chairmanship of Rajesh Sharma, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. The government will take further decision in this matter on the basis of the recommendations of the committee.

Representatives of the Vocational Teachers Association including Joint Secretary Education will also be included in the committee who will give their report and after this, the matter will be raised before the Chief Minister.

Teachers have been given another relief in the appointment. Till now vocational teachers could be appointed only till the age of 37 years. But now the age limit has been increased to 45 years.
