The Health Department in Sirmaur district has appealed to the people to register births and deaths on time. Chief Medical Officer District Sirmaur Dr Ajay Pathak has appealed to the people to fill the prescribed format carefully while registering the incident of birth or death so that they do not have to face any kind of problem in the future.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Medical Officer said that under the Birth and Death Act 1969, it is mandatory to register any birth or death incident in the Panchayat or Municipality or Council within 21 days and it can be registered with a late fee from 21 days to 30 days.
He said that the birth certificate of a child can also be obtained without a name and the name of the child can be added to the certificate without any fee for up to one year.
He said that if it takes more than 30 days to register a birth or death outside the health institutions, then it becomes a case of late registration. For this, the applicants can be brought into the process only after submitting the required documents in the office of the District Registrar of Births and Deaths cum Chief Medical Officer. Therefore, while registering all birth or death incidents, fill the prescribed form correctly so that there is no problem.
