Shimla: Former Himachal Pradesh minister and former MP from Kangra parliamentary constituency and senior BJP leader Kishan Kapoor’s cremation held in his native village on Sunday.
He was cremated with full state honors at the cremation ground of Manjhi Khad in his native village Khaniyara. His son Shashwat Kapoor light the funeral pyre. Earlier on Sunday morning, his body was kept for public viewing at Patola ground in Khaniyara, where hundreds of party leaders and workers, along with common people, paid tribute to him.
On behalf of the present government, Agriculture Minister Prof. Chandra Kumar and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Pathania paid tribute to Kishan Kapoor, a veteran leader of the state, and bid him a final farewell.
During this, BJP State President Dr. Rajiv Bindal, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, State BJP General Secretary Trilok Kapoor, former Minister Ramesh Dhawaala, Radha Raman Shastri, MLA Sudhir Sharma, Janak Raj, other MLAs and former MLAs, a large number of party leaders and workers, besides district administrative officers and a large number of local and Tibetan community from Dharamshala were also present.
Died of brain stroke
Let us tell you that former MP Kishan Kapoor died on Saturday due to prolonged illness. He was 74 years old. He has left behind his wife, son and daughter. Kapoor was undergoing treatment at PGI for the last few days. He suffered a brain stroke last Sunday.
