Shimla: Captain Ranjit Singh Rana, MLA from Sujanpur assembly constituency of Hamirpur district, reached outside Gaiety Theatre near Scandal Point in Shimla on Friday. As the Scandal Point has been restricted in Shimla. When the police noticed, the car was stopped and a challan was issued.
Then a challan of Rs 1500 was issued for his car, and the car was released. But the MLA’s car reaching near the restricted area of Scandal Point has become a topic of discussion.
It was told that the MLA himself was not present in the car at that time. The driver took it there alone. The police control room was also nearby. On the other hand, this area of Mall Road is prohibited for the movement of all types of vehicles except emergency services. Therefore, the vehicle going here and not being able to stop it at the right time is also a different kind of question.
MLA Captain Ranjit Singh claims that he was not in the car when it was challaned. The driver of the car had gone to get medicine, and he did not know whether he could take the car there or not. Mistakenly driver drove the car there. The MLA said that anyway, the challan has been issued and a lesson has been learned for the future.
