Chances of light rain-snowfall in Himachal today

Shimla: There may be light rain and snowfall in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh today. According to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance will be active in the state from January 21. Due to which there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly areas for the next three days.

The Meteorological Department has especially issued an alert regarding snowfall on January 23. Many areas of the state including Shimla are cloudy since this morning. Due to which there is a possibility of rain and snowfall.

IMD estimates that there will be rain and snowfall in the middle and high altitude areas of the state at the end of January. Which mainly includes Kinnaur, Kullu, Chamba, Kangra, Lahaul Spiti, Mandi and Shimla, there is a possibility of snowfall on the high peaks of all these districts.

Yellow alert of fog in Una

A yellow alert of dense fog has been issued in the plain district Una. Due to fog, the drivers are facing problems due to low visibility in the morning. The effect of fog is also being seen on the temperature.

Cold will increase due to Western Disturbance

The temperature in the plains has dropped below the capital Shimla. While the minimum temperature of Shimla was recorded at 2.8 degrees Celsius, the temperature in Sundarnagar has dropped to 1.7, Una to 1.4, Palampur to 1.0 and Hamirpur to 2.0 degrees Celsius. After the snowfall on Shimla and the surrounding high peaks two days ago, now the cold wave is expected to increase further in the state due to the activation of a new Western Disturbance.
