Congress leader Pratibha Singh welcomes Kangana, asks people to refrain from making objectionable comments

Congress leader and Mandi MP Pratibha Singh on Friday welcomed Kangana Ranaut as she stepped into politics and is going to contest the election against her. Calling Kangana as daughter of Himachal Pradesh, Pratibha Singh said that Kangana has joined politics to work for the state. She added that she is a woman and it’s their (Congress) duty to respect her.

Singh said, “I welcome her as she is the daughter of Himachal. She has joined politics to work for the state and has started working actively… She is a woman, it’s our duty to respect her. I appeal to the people not to make objectionable comments, it’s not good. We should contest on the issues instead of commenting on her be it through media or at any public meeting. I condemn the way it all started and the kind of things that were said a few days back”

She appealed to people to refrain from making objectionable comments on woman as it is not good. She said that work should be done on the issues instead of any personal objectionable comments.

Few days back, objectionable remarks were shared from the social media handle of Congress leader Supriya Shrinate on Kangana Ranaut following which was called an attack on the dignity of women.

However, Supriya Shrinate said that post was not shared by her and might have been posted by someone who had access to her account. Condemning the post, Supriya later deleted it from all handles.

Pratibha Singh to contest from Mandi

Congress has made the picture clear regarding the candidate from Mandi parliamentary seat of Himachal Pradesh. The party has made Pratibha Singh the candidate from this seat. Pratibha Singh is currently the Congress state president and is also an MP from this seat. This information was given by veteran Himachal Congress leader Kaul Singh Thakur that Pratibha Singh will be the MP from Mandi seat which means that she will have direct competition with Actress Kangana Ranaut of BJP.
