Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to visit Himachal for IIT Mandi’s 16th Foundation Day

Mandi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is coming on a one-day visit to Mandi in Himachal Pradesh today. Rajnath Singh will attend the 16th Foundation Day program of IIT Command Mandi. During this, he will present Young Faculty Fellow Award, Young Achiever Award, Students Academic Excellence Award and Students Tech Award to the meritorious students of the institute and the teachers and staff doing excellent work.

Rajnath Singh will put forward his views on national security and technological innovation. After this, he will go to Sundarnagar in Mandi. Here Rajnath Singh will participate in the program organized to release the installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

Safe trial of landing at Kangnidhar helipad

Earlier on Sunday, the Air Force conducted a trial for the landing of Rajnath Singh’s helicopter at Kangnidhar in Mandi. During this, the Defense Minister’s helicopter landed safely.

Security beefed up in Mandi

Security has been beefed up in Mandi in view of the Defence Minister’s visit. More than 150 soldiers have been deployed at various places. The programme to be held at IIT Mandi will be presided over by the institute’s Board of Governors Chairman Lieutenant General (Retired) Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon.

Rajnath Singh will attend as the chief guest. CSJM University Kanpur’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Himachal CM’s Principal Advisor Gokul Butel and French company Rovial Space’s CTO Dr. Amit Kumar Pandey will also participate in it.
